Amazon QuickSight – Dashboard Sorting

Amazon QuickSight – Dashboard Sorting

Sorting in Amazon QuickSight allows you to rearrange the order of data points in your visualizations. You can use sorting to highlight specific data points or patterns, or to make your data easier to understand.

To sort data in QuickSight, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the dashboard or visualization that you want to sort.
  2. Click the “Sort” button in the toolbar.
  3. Select the field you want to use to sort the data.
  4. Choose the sort order, either ascending (A to Z) or descending (Z to A).
  5. Click “Apply” to apply the sort.

You can also create multiple levels of sorting, by adding additional fields to the sort order. This can be useful if you want to sort by multiple criteria, such as region and then by sales.

You can sort data in three ways

  1. You can sort by a field by hovering over its label and selecting the sort icon.

2. You’ll find a filter icon in the upper right corner of a dashboard element.

3. From the context menu, click or tap the field and choose Sort.

You specify the sort order for pivot tables using the column sort icon.
