Amazon QuickSight – epochDate

Amazon QuickSight – epochDate

The epochDate function in Amazon QuickSight converts an epoch timestamp to a date value. The function takes one argument, which is the epoch timestamp that you want to convert.

Syntax

#Start#
epochDate(epochdate)
#End#

This function takes one argument

When you apply the epochDate function to an epoch timestamp, QuickSight converts the timestamp to a date value and returns the result. The date value is formatted as a string in ISO 8601 date format (yyyy-MM-dd). If the epoch timestamp includes a fractional part, QuickSight truncates the fractional part before performing the conversion.

For example, if you have a data set that includes a column for epoch timestamps and you want to create a new column that shows the corresponding date values, you can use the epochDate function to perform the conversion.

Example

#Start#
epochDate(EpochTimestamp)
#End#

This expression would convert the ‘EpochTimestamp’ value to a date value and return the result in the new column.
