Datastage

Datastage is an ETL tool and part of the IBM Information Platforms Solutions suite. It is used to Extract, transfer and load (ETL) data across multiple systems, supports extended metadata management and big data enterprise connectivity.

The datastage sources might include sequential files, indexed files, relational databases, external data sources, archives, enterprise applications, etc..and facilitates business analysis by providing quality data to help in gaining business intelligence.

Datastage Can integrate data from the widest range of enterprise and external data sourcesand implements data validation rules and can handle complex transformations and manage multiple integration processes, useful in processing and transforming large amounts of data, uses scalable parallel processing approach mostly Operates in batch, real time, or as a Web service.

Firstly it was launched by VMark in mid-90’s,where IBM aquired DataStage in 2005 and was renamed to IBM WebSphere DataStage and later to IBM InfoSphere.
