Introduction to DBMS

 

What is DBMS?

DBMS is a collection of interrelated data and a set of programs to access this data. It is primarily used to supply an efficient and convenient environment for retrieving and storing information. The collection of this data is called a “Database”. 

 

For Example: Let us consider the Database of an Educational Institution, Data of the Faculty, Students, Non-teaching staff, etc. DBMS makes it easier to update, retrieve, Delete, Insert data from a database. 

 

Application of Database Systems

Some of the most commonly used applications of DBMS are:

We have numerous books that are available in a library. And day-to-day there are many people that borrow and take books, to keep a track of these actions databases are widely used.

These companies use DBMS to keep track of the Call logs, Call details and post paid bills.

We tend to use a lot of E-Commerce websites these days and From adding, removing your products from shopping cart to Invoice bills, DBMS has made it easier.
