Government Said to Explore Use of AI to Tackle Social Media Misuse
Now- a –days, we can see clearly that the crimes using social media have been increasing day by day. Most of the people are using social media to know more creative tings, to introduce themselves to the world, to explore their qualifications, to learn something new, to get the jobs, to get the latest news around the world.
Hence people are so addicted to use the social media apps, and showing their presence in the social media. Only positive things we have seen till now. But people are misusing social media by creating fake accounts, and miss using the account details of others; this can be stopped by using Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence can be used to remove objectionable content automatically from social media platforms needs to be explored. They have been taking action towards people who are misusing, social media platforms operating in the country and monitor their compliance to instructions issued by lawful authorities under Information Technology Act.
Ravi Shankar Prasad Minister of Electronics and Information Technology had said in Lok Sabha that with a borderless cyberspace coupled with the possibility of instant communication and anonymity, has been taking steps for misuse of cyberspace and social media platforms for criminal activities is a global issue.
According to Information Technology (IT) Section 79 of the Act provides that intermediaries are required to disable/remove unlawful content on being notified by appropriate government or its agency.
The central government is now exploring to use Artificial Intelligence, hence to remove a single content from social media platforms is a very lengthy process and it takes lot of time to clean it up digitally.
