Researchers use Artificial Intelligence to deblur human faces in photos

If we take a snap using a camera, we expect it as our memory for lifetime. If the photos are of blurred and we couldn’t see the clear faces then we cannot capture the beautiful moments of our life.

In order to solve this problem, researchers at the Inception Institute of Artificial Intelligence in the United Arab Emirates, the Beijing Institute of Technology, and Stony Brook University developed an AI system that removes blur from images.

By using deblurring methods, means it deblur human faces, and that it performs “favorably” against state-of-the-art motion. It best captures the Relative motion between a camera and objects, the foreground and background often undergo different types of degradation.

This model HIDE pairs of blurry images and ground truth sharp images obtained using a camera covering thousands of complex backgrounds, outdoor scenes and diverse foreground motions and sizes.

This model achieves state-of-the-art performance said by Scientists with respect to dynamic deblurring and leads to better restoration results compared with several baselines.

Human-aware Image Deblurring- HIDE can separately and explicitly handle the human-related and background blurs, this method can better capture the diverse motion patterns and rich semantics of humans, leading to better deblurring results for both backgrounds humans and foreground.
