New Keyword Ideas (i2tutorials)

8 Ways to find new Keywords

So we suggest you consider the following locations for finding new key requests:

1. In Google Keyword Planner, the “Landing Page” option

We are sure that the majority do not even know about such an option in the Keyword Planner:

Instead of writing a keyword in the “product or service” field as usual, try publishing one of your URLs here.

The recommendations that you receive will be very different from those that you will find if you search by topic. If you have been doing this for a long time, then you know that trying to enter something new will get the same list of suggested keywords.

Try several different URLs. There are many keywords that have not appeared before.

2. Internet forums and message boards

Who knew that they still exist?

The forums are a great source of ideas. They bring a lot of traffic, use a wide network, and there are many searches for which almost all the results on the first page come from the forums.

Browsing the forums can be a great way to find topics that nobody has covered “professionally.”

Check out the forums in your industry. Many of them will even simplify your research by allowing you to sort messages by traffic.

3. Google: search queries and auto-complete

Although everyone knows about them, they are still undervalued.

They differ from the recommendations that we would see if we type in the keyword planner a query “where to find the keywords”.

4. Google Correlate

Google Correlate is a tool that allows you to find out about other queries that people are looking for related to your keyword

5. Google Search Console

Despite the fact that Google hasn’t shown clever keywords in Google Analytics for a long time, a large number of keywords are still available in the Search Console

Search Console allows you to sort by clicks, impressions, click speeds and positions. Although clicks and click through rates (CTR) seem to be in significant disagreement with Analytics, due to confidentiality issues, data on impressions and positions look fairly accurate.

However, unlike other keyword tracking tools, this one will tell you about almost every keyword that you rank, including those that you haven’t yet defined.

Try to sort by position and see which keywords you currently rank in positions 10-30, for starters. There is a chance that many of them are keywords that you have not yet aimed at, but they are already being ranked adequately.

6. Google Trends

Most are familiar with Google Trends. Their ability to be useful for industry content is limited, but they deserve a mention in this list.

Most importantly, you can search for specific industries, as well as narrow the results for specific regions

Google Trends also provides a list of topics that people have searched for in the past 24 hours

Although the developer requires a specific type of content to quickly respond to these trends, we recommend that you consider this tool.

7. Amazon

The keyword planner and most keyword tools are rarely as specific as mentioning specific brands or models unless you enter them directly into the tool. This is the case when Amazon comes in handy.

Want a list of keywords in the coffee maker industry?

5,786 options – not bad for a start.

Starting from individual products, not from a class of products or industries, you open up a completely different set of keyword possibilities. If you enter them into the keyword planner, new ideas will appear.

8. Wikipedia

Wikipedia page on your topic can be a great place to search for new keywords and related concepts. For example, take a look at the “Keyword Research” article on Wikipedia.

Clicking on the category “Search Engine Optimization”, we fall into the list of topics, some of them you did not even think about. Look at the results for the entry “coffee maker”, which lists the types of coffee makers.
